Last year my 90 was subjected to a major rebuild and some add-ons by a 'professional' landie man. I have now solved most of the ensuing issues but have never managed to get the heated windscreen to work. It is all new and controlled by a Red Bison Diamondback and initially I thought the switch was faulty as it appeared to have overheated and I noted it had been installed without a fuse so I fitted an in-line 30amp one and a new genuine switch . Now however the fuse blows immediately the switch is depressed. If I power the two windscreen connectors with a separate fused supply it does not blow. From the installation instructions I found online it says connect the power to the left hand side of the screen but I note that the right hand side is connected to positive and left negative. I cannot see why this would make a difference but someone might know! is the answer just to get a genuine LR wiring loom? Any ideas gratefully received.

Hi, I cannot remember if I tried changing the positive and negative around although I think I did! I ended up pulling out the Red Bison and ditching it and fitting a completely new wiring harness and relay and it has been fine and a brilliant Defender accessory.

Thanks for that, I think I’ll do the same, just replace it with a timer relay. Loved my heated windscreen when it worked.
