Yeah bloody Greta. Who does she think she is trying to make the world a better place for everyone?
She should be more like an English teenager. Speaking pigeon English, swapping naked selfies, taking ketamine and stabbing other kids to death. The world’s gone mad I tells ya. WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

I’m not saying she is wrong, it’s just her followers need to stop consuming if they feel it is a case worth following. A word of warning. My education was totally messed up with 4 years of industrial action by the main teachers unions. The unions would call a strike for a single lesson period during the day. Because the school could not look after us without the teaching staff, and we came to school on a bus, we were forced to have the day off. We all thought this was great. In reality, and in hindsight it messed my secondary school education up completely. I have done ok, but I could have done better. So when you Children start taking days off school in protest, you may be better getting a good education. Your education and knowledge will be far more useful to the world than bunking off school. Just my opinion, kids. And if you are anything like I was, you won’t listen as you will know it all anyway! 🤣 |

As with so much industrial action, they never got what they wanted.
My chemistry teacher kept bees. He always went to look after them when they walked out as he always thought it was far more constructive than sitting in our local Odeon cinema at a union meeting. His name was Mr Everett. He got on the telly a couple of years ago on BBC 2 talking to Martha Kearney of Radio 4 about bees. Sorry that was completely off the topic |

I wonder how many of those school kids in Bristol will be jumping for joy when their parents tell them that this year instead of holidaying in Florida they'll be spending two weeks in Weston Super Mare. "We as parents have decided to support you and Greta and cut down on our travelling".

Cause and effect. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of understanding these days, Discomog
Looking at the Corona Virus, Greta may have the morale high ground, but maybe a virile infection like this will be the undoing of the human race not climate change. In fact, the removal of a large number of the earths inhabitants by this kind of pandemic would also have the effect of helping the environment (as long as we all don’t want to be cremated!) |

Now it’s a bit windy I expect they’ve all found themselves a “safe space”.
Considering that the idea was dreamt up whilst high on Cannabis it wouldn’t be surprising they’d have the fear factor with the psychosis etc it brings long term. If Greta would have been from a country outside of the European continent they wouldn’t have hero worshipped. Very few are interested - that’s for certain myself included. Article about old men abusing and threatening Greta and the children who went on the march. From the safety of the internet. Obviously. It's always a certain 'type' isn't it? WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

Who is the old men then Zed? I do hope you aren't stereotyping D2 members?
I know a couple of people on this thread myself included are likely younger than yourself so your point is what exactly? My previous point stands as 100% relevant and acurate. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

if you put yourself out there, there will always be people who like you and hate you. The haters should not do what they do and it is wrong, it shouldn’t happen, but it does and people like Greta need to manage this problem or at least have a team who are there to do it.
I have read articles where both Greta’s Mum and Dad have expressed concern for their Daughters well being. She has well publicised challenges which I must take my hat off to her for overcoming. I couldn’t stand up in front of all those people on Friday and talk without turning to mush. She is a better communicator than I will ever be. She’s probably not much of an Electrician My issue is not with Greta, it is with the kids who think it is high jinks to bunk off school. Greta is mostly correct in what she is trying to get over and she would have got just as much publicity if the meeting was held on a Saturday. Sadly, unless we all want to be bankrupt and starving, there needs to be a middle ground to try to make things better. There were loads of children at that protest holding their mobile phones in the air. The same mobile phones which we are digging the world up to provide the raw materials for so they can update their Facebook profile. Essential use of the earths resources? Whilst money men (they are mostly men) rule our world, nothing will change. Most of the people who are allegedly trying to do something are probably in it for monetary gain rather than environmental concerns (see Mr E Musk who is bulldozing Forrest’s to build his Giga Factories). I worry. I worry for my Nephew and Nieces. I have no idea what the future holds for them? I can’t see a real appetite for change as no one wants to do with out and we all live in an economy which relies on consumerism, buying lots and lots of stuff we don’t need. I’m glad I’m not 17 again. |

That's an odd question Steve. I thought it obvious I was referring to the article. I hadn't even looked at your previous post until just now but after reading a few times I still don't understand what you were trying to say.
Please tell me it wasn't you or a D2 member named in the Bristol Post? WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

I have zero interest in what she has to say or your links so no I wasn't aware of what it contains nor any interest to be frank.
I was simply stating your post. Let's face it, you like a good argument over the same thing with any member that disagrees with you. Everyone can see that. Are you related to river boy who used to be on here? He was much the same, in fact he used to use this site to discuss the same things as you much in much the same way. Rather than discussing Defenders and any such content the site was designed for. On a side note, you should see the mess they left behind there as well! I didn't in person but the news covered it. All the grass and turf was destroyed and turned into a sea of mud. Puts Glasto to shame for the mess left behind. I've never littered in my life, either this has become a growing problem too. That can only be kids brought up incorrectly to become an issue as it hasn't been a problem before. I'd would say us Defender owners are very very upstanding compared to many people's behaviour out there. I can only but imagine the littering is most done at night out of car windows.. I hear you Rashers and agree with most of that.
It's also impressive Greta can give those speeches in a second language. If I was 15 I'd have definitely bunked off but I wouldn't have been out there standing watching in the wind and rain. What is the modern equivalent of an arcade or pool hall? My point wasn't so much about her actions but how nasty people who should know better can be. There seems to be a generation and type who have no decency, class or even basic manners, and people may tell me I'm not politically correct but Id say it's just not British to act that way. WARNING.
