sweet, stage 1?

Started out. It's a Sandringham 6x6 but this one is no longer original, currently got an LD28T in it, previously to that it had a 5.7 diesel. Plan is to MOT it ASAP so I can use it outside of my own place and see what it's like on the road with the straight 6.

I'm not overly fussed on reverting it to original, I'm half tempted long term to shove a 3.6 TDV8 into it (something I've always wanted to do). It's going to be a working vehicle so a decently powered diesel makes much more sense.

Technically 2 tonnes Laughing, they were built for load carrying and was originally plated for a 2 tonne payload. Ed

Tough it's mine Laughing

Although it's not that great off-road. Stiff leaf springs mean little articulation and open diffs, well you see where I'm going, particularly if you forget to lock the hubs on the middle axle. Previous owner was paranoid about winding up the special (read expensive) diff so managed to source a pair of free wheeling hubs meaning you can disconnect the rear axle. But makes it rather embarrassing when you forget to re-engage them and crest, lets say a little hill. In fact I lost traction on my (in progress) driveway this evening because of exactly that. Ed

easy done on a 6x6, friend with a 6x6 pinz found similar issues if no drive to rear axle! Cheers
