England 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
I've got a c-tek (plugged in now as it happens) but I have a tendency to forget / can't be bothered to plug it in regular.

I'm thinking of extending the plug / loop terminals such that the loops are permanently bolted to battery and plug resides under seat for easy connection (would utilise same grommet as for heated seats) Thumbs Up

will keep an eye on just how long battery lasts but seems average so far is 2-3 weeks.

not sure how such a small drain is possible with alarm and other stuff in 'sleep mode' - I wouldn't be surprised if alarm alone was in excess of 10mA ?

That's exactly what I am planning when I get a 'roundtoit'!

- bit of a pain pitting the CTEK on otherwise but the kit works really well for a tired or unused battery (mine's 10 years old). Richard

that's exactly what I have done connector is next to the passenger door, I can close the door on the charger cable and the door seal is happy to allow the door to lock DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

Wouldn't it make sense to measure electricity consumption at rest first? Roughly it then would be possible to calculate the duration with the capacity of battery....

That’s a cracking secondary use for the snow cowl Thumbs Up

Really not a fan of putting cables in doors and closing them ~ Landrover doors especially.

I dont worry about cables catching in doors, the gap is massive on most defenders. In fact I am not sure my dog wouldnt climb out through the door gaps if she wasnt so well behaved. Cheers

it would and I should.
what are most people seeing as an electrical load when parked up?

Pretty much all Defenders currrent draw at rest parked up varies.

I would say between 12 and 30mA would be pretty typical, you can always test your own Defender with a Multimeter too of course. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Exactly, no holes needed drilling in the Defender and easy enough to use without any faffing about. 2010 XS USW

One of the Ninetys I bought came with a little solar powered battery maintainer.

Currently on a Series One diesel, just inside the windscreen with the wires going out the door and under the bonnet.

Seems to keep the seldom used vehicle and its (two 6 volt) batteries fresh, but of course, you have to park outside.

That's interesting Charles. I keep the fire engine on charge (maintenance). I fired it up last weekend after having to park it up with no access for about 7 weeks. It started but only just. I guess the cold weather of late did not help. 6 volt batteries are expensive so not keen to replace anytime soon! 2010 XS USW
