I have had flying garden furniture and to my surprise, the barbecue sailed over an eight-foot fence into the field and one length of guttering complete with drainpipe was ripped off the cottage roof other than that it was not too bad. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

this is across the road fro us ....Rossendale Lancashire
much flooding in the valley lots of place without insurance as nobody will cover you or the price is so high its not worth it Useless utilities have done nothing to the waterways since the last floods in 2015 and this time its worse as the streams and culverts are well silted up and full of trees and debris that's washed downstream. Drive home from the lakes today through a fair few floods. The good news it that when I got home the coating of mud that has built up over the shooting season all over the body and chassis was pretty much gone!!

My end of the woods ( sunderland) only got the tail end of this, we had the wind etc, but I don't think we got as bad as what south got. Nothing in our local paper stated any damage, only disruptions.
This afternoon when it came back for another go, as it seemed to have died and the came back again. The wind and hail actually set the alarm off on the defender. My mum went on daft saying its going to flatten your battery! What can you do if the weather is giving it some lol. From what the papers say, snow is on its way. But then again they have been saying that for the past few weeks, and its still not here. The Beast from the east was suppostly returning etc last year, and it never arrived. So the only time they have got it right is with this storm for a change. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

The tarp on a friend's One Ten that I'm storing has taken some welly, but apart from that I've got off lightly.
I put this down to me going out in the gale and dragging the generator and cables across to the house, in anticipation of the inevitable power cut. Of course, it never happened. Only 5mm of rain too. The joys of Essex. |

Lots of wind and rain in Worcestershire. The rain is nothing new (close to Wales) but the fields had been drying nicely with the wind the previous week. Back to square one now.
The dogs are most put out. I don't mind taking them out in a bit of rain, but horizontal is pushing it, so we wait for a break in the weather and then go. It looks like it might be 4.00 today, but they are creatures of habit so I'm now getting pestered as I type! |
