I am thinking of doing away with the cat converter and centre muffler on my Puma. I did this with the wife's TD5 when i removed the egr and it seems all good. I've heared reports that the Puma doesn't like to run without a cat converter so thought I would check before buying the bits. At this stage the engine tune is standard but this will change in the near future.

Nah, any TD engine will run better without down-turbo restrictions. Where have you seen reports that the Puma does not like a decat? -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

I did away with rear box and cat as have several others. Allows the turbo to spool up quicker and the engine to breathe better! Plenty about it here: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic3204.html?highlight=griffin If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! On here, may be when tuned prior to exhaust change? Will go ahead and order the bits I think. Allan |

I've removed cat and midle silencer, great sound and better response at low range both with standard and tuned ECU! Matteo
