Regardless of what we all think of the new Defender, LR have completely missed the boat regarding the demonisation of diesel and new electric options.
Someone needs to take responsibility. |

Today, more than 1,000 Spark44 associates are supporting the entire mix of Jaguar Land Rover’s marketing communications on a day-to-day basis.
But maybe not for much longer. This was one of his pet projects, and now he is going... "Jaguar Land Rover has dismissed rumours that it is selling its in-house ad agency, Spark44. It follows a story in the German press that reported the departure of JLR chief executive Ralf Speth has led to various options around the future of Spark44, including a sale. However, a spokesman for JLR told Campaign that any claims that suggest the agency is up for sale are "unfounded". He added that the company is currently working on creating a "more efficient business model" for Spark44 and JLR by "enhancing our data-led and digital capability". https://www.campaignlive.co.uk/article/jag...le/1672883 |

Nothing abnormal stepping down when you are 65 of course. Time for extended holidays with the Mrs...
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Perhaps the sales figures for the new one isn't as good as hoped, I wonder why. No Guts, No Glory.

The latest issues in China will certainly be heaping additional financial and operational stresses on them.

Michael Gove’s announcement yesterday about import duties and border checks for car makers won’t help either now we don’t make most of the components that go into a modern car in the UK - 2% duty in each component price soon adds up to lost sales even on cars assembled here. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Nick Rogers, JLR's engineering director, is the only internal candidate to replace him. (FT article sits behind a pay wall.)
Other candidates reported as being: Klaus Froehlich, recently retired BMW development chief Fred Schulze, head of production at Audi’s home plant in Ingolstadt, Germany Bram Schot, former Audi CEO https://www.bmwblog.com/2020/07/06/klaus-f...aguar-ceo/ That might explain his video promotion of the hard top and other social media things he's been doing recently to raise his profile. I wonder if he's got time for Gerry? I may be dreaming now, but what if he gets appointed, sacks Gerry, gets the old Defender pressing kit out of the basement and tells everyone he's going to start again with the engineering led approach he wanted from the beginning? That isn't going to happen.
The boat has sailed and they've burned their bridges. |

Hopefully he will receive the same care as his previous customers?
We have had your money or in his poorly judged input and we might or might not fix it or as in his case give you your golden handshake and pension! Karma |

Hey, never say never... Would love to know where all the Defender production kit went, OK, some may have been generic, some life expired, but there must have been bits of unique kit. |
