Looks great, what sort of miles do you do per year in it? Andy

Not huge, it's my wife's everyday. It was doing under 9k a year but we've had to move so mileage was over 14k last year and it's killing me James

I keep trying to persuade them to use old red who's on 179k already. But apparently they prefer to be warm and dry with USB ports James

Last weekend I got stuck on the tow bar crossing a ditch. Quick dig and it drove out. The trouble was to get back out I had to drive through the ditch again and got proper stuck. After quick some trying with different lock and TC kicking in quite a bit I had to get towed out.
The funny thing is driving home the drive train seems a lot tighter, less slack and clunking, much better. I don't know if I'm dreaming it or may be I've done some damage? Also fitted the MUD cubby bin. Fed up with kids water bottles having no where to go and leaking everywhere.

Thank you! We've had her 5 years now and still just love it. Done all the 'essential' work, but still have a long list of wants! I have several new upgrades waiting to be fitted, just never find the time and need to get on top of the corrosion first. James

Congratulations on your new purchases. Security is most important first, then live with it a while and see what you think needs improving.
The mods soon add up and are never ending! However, I don't regret any of the work and most mods either greatly improve the everyday useability or just look good (IMO). I try to only do things that can be put back to original, so hopefully not effect future value. Good luck James MY2012 110 2.2TDCi XS SW Orkney Grey - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43410.html MY1990 110 200TDi SW beautifully faded Portofino Red - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post743641.html#743641 MY1984 90 V8 Slate Grey - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post744557.html#744557 Instagram @suffolk_rovers |

As others have said - lovely looking vehicle, good work How do you find the cubby bin if you sit behind it as an adult, could you sit an adult in the middle seat still? Sorely tempted by one for exactly the same reason you said you bought yours, just that i'd like to be able to carry aforementioned child on one side, and two adults in the middle and outer seat. |

Thank you all for the compliments.
Just been out and tried it. I'm 5'11 (but quite short in the leg ) and there is plenty of room. I do have the seat risers that tip the seat back which I suspect may help. In practice any guy is likely to sit with a leg either side of the bin. That looks absolutely fine to me. Plenty of space. I've also got the seat risers, if you mean the FarCorners ones. One of the better mod's I've done, amazingly simple to generate quite a bit more extra comfort in the rear, shocked me how much better they were, would recommend them.
Thanks for taking the photos, I reckon that's a goer, i'll get one ordered (read as "i'll add to my wifes list of things to get me for my birthday"). |
