Hi James
I hope you don’t mind me asking.. I’m toying with buying an iKamper skycamp 2.0 , I was wondering how you were getting on with yours and if you had any drawbacks ? Also it looks like you have a Hannibal or Tembo rack fitted , how did you mount the ikamper as there aren’t any crossbars ? Thanks ! Rich https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

Not at all, we're still very please with the Skycamp it is an awesome rtt. Only issue we have is the mattress isnt brilliant, but easily overcomable and it has been improved on the 2.0. The only other issue is condensation but this is mostly as the kids like it dark inside we sleep with the windows closed and 4 people in an ventilated space is going to cause condensation. Otherwise an utterly brilliant rtt.
Mounting to the Hannibal was a bit of an issue, as both he rack and tent rails run front to back. All I did was remove the tent rails and redrill to suit the rack rails, so not difficult. The 1.0 just has screw clamps which have been changed on the 2.0 to a quick release so not sure how it works now. Speak to Andy at iKamper UK, he is very helpful. Oh the other thing is the annex is great big space and easy to put up. The Skycamp suits a Defender perfectly. If you're on Facebook both the iKamper and ikamper uk pages are great. It is a lot of money but if you're going to use it a lot it's well worth it. It's just so easy to put up and down and plenty of space. Hi James
That’s great , thank you for the feedback . I’d heard that the mattress wasn’t to everyone’s liking on the skycamp 1.0 but had also heard of the improvements on the 2.0 . I’ll have a chat with Andy . Ideally I’d like a second hand one but they’re like hens teeth and the only one I did find was only marginally less than a new one !! Is there room to store any bedding in the tent when in transit ? https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

We were lucky to pick our 1.0 up second hand at a good price as it was one of the first kickstart sales.
Bedding is an interesting one. You're supposed to have enough room for sleeping bags and some bedding, but I've never managed it. However, I read something the other day about not putting it too close to the hinges, which is where I do put it, so maybe I'm just stacking it wrong. I need to try more. Thanks Cooperracer. I do love the Bowlers but they are a pain to clean! I got mine from Bowler as ex display at a healthy saving, wish I'd gone 18" now! Keep an eye out they do come up at discount. James

The puma has had some long overdue pampering, all by Cult4x4. Great understated guys doing some amazing work and local, highly recommend.

Looks very nice and tidy James. I like the bowler sills.
My vehicle’s the same age and I’ve also noticed a few trouble spots around the windscreen as well as a couple of dubious looking spots lower down on the bulkhead/vent panel. I think I should maybe attend to this sooner rather than later. How much were you talking for the windscreen surround repair, if you don’t mind me asking. It sounds like your pleased with the results. |

I'd been putting it off for ages, but pleased it's been done now before it got too bad and unrepairable. It was worse than I thought under the seal.
There was a long list of work... windowscreen surround, windscreen blocks, tiny spot of rust on B pillar, rear cross member, tow hitch, remove-cut down bumperettes re paint refit, mudflap brackets, fit dirt-D-fender, repair drl, door lock, fit sills and steps. All done for £600. I thought that was pretty reasonable and yes very pleased with the work.
