Just fitted a new bumper with DRLs from Dixon fabrications. Looks mint.
At the same time I messed on with the stereo and changed the speakers. One of these things caused noise or bad reception with the DAB radio reception. My guess was that speakers but it turns out it was the LEDs on the bumper. Power to them and the radio goes to hiss. Tried everything (I know) to isolate it, but with the led’s lit the reception is pants. Don’t know how to add a video to this or I would. Anyone else had issues with noise from DRLs? These came with the bumper so are obviously cheapies but speaking Dixon they have supplied thousands and never had a problem. I also have one of the cheapy DRL ignition things from the bay that might be an issue. What make does everyone else have that’s proven to be good. As above, clamp on ones in-line are ideal. I think I got mine on Amazon in a multi size pack. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Took it Newcastle audio centre for them to have a look as my audio tool kit (and knowledge) was a bit sparse.
Spent a lot of time on isolating the solving the noise issue. We've fitted a selection of ferrite rings. Wrapped the cabling in a special blanket. Removed the cheaply Drl module and wired them directly to the battery and also to an ignition live. All the other led lights don't cause any issues. Just these. Conclusion. The drls supplied are causing a huge amount of interference and there is nothing the audio centre can do to solve it. They said some of them just do. FM not really affected, but DAB is woeful. Great..... My only option now is to find another more reputable set of Drls that fit the bumper and don't emit dab killing noise. At the moment they are off. |

Have a word with Scott at uproar4x4, he can supply the DRL's you need as your bumper looks pretty similar to mine. I also have the Nakatanenga DAB aerial and zero issues with interference.

Perfect.
Was thinking of trying a few others but if you know of one that fits that works with DAB then great. |

It’ll be fine...
I’ll contact uproar and see what they use, but in the mean time I’ve just bought 3 different sets on Amazon for delivery tomorrow.... one of them must surely work..... Have to say the bumper is awesome..... maybe not uproar stainless but Quality of Dixon fabrication is brilliant. |

The fitter at the audio centre was brilliant. If there was a way to fix the noise issue he would.
In the end they called them DAB restricting lights and I’ve had them turned off. Seems our beloved Defenders don’t handle some of the fancy toys without putting up a fight first. Never heard of the brake causing electrical interference. If it Wasn’t so Annoyingly bad it’d be funny. |

It's mad, I can only think the brake light switch is causing the interference. The joys 🙄 1990 200tdi conversion 90

When I installed an old Sony radio there were massive interferences when charging an iPhone.
I tried this in the radio's power line: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sinus-Live-Interf...ast_bbp_dp No change. Then this in the audio input line: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sinus-Live-205-Gr...ast_bbp_dp ahh - silence |

What do you mean by the Audio Input line exactly. It’s worth a try.... |
