I have an inherited Kartcher and it's ok but not great with more than a touch of design over functional performance.

Two observations:

Our local farmer uses a Kranzle... and he wouldn't allow any substandard piece of kit on his yard.

Also a local specialist car workshop uses a Nilfisk… I noticed it as we have a 40 year old Nilfisk vacuum cleaner
that appears to be indestructible.

As and when I trade up I would look at these two SKIP

I have the 10/722 and the 2160. Both of these have a "knob" that you use to adjust the pressure. Works well.

That's where the Kranzle machines win, because they aren't that much more powerful, but they do put out a lot of flow.

Could do with some help on this. I have a Kranzle 160. Had it at my last house and it worked fine, now moved out into the sticks and my outside tap is 25-30m from my drive. From the manual (for the 2160) "Due the suction capacity of its pump (up to 2.5 m suction height, max. hose length 3 m) this high-pressure cleaner can suck in water for cleaning purposes from separate containers or ponds."

If you have the space to store one and aren't needing portability, then it may be worth considering a 2nd hand commercial hot water variable pressure/steam pressure washer.
I went down this route 15 years ago after getting fed up with low powered, unreliable domestic cold water units.

I picked up mine for around £500. It runs on a standard 13 amp plug and heats the water using diesel or kerosene.
It has a built in detergent tank and has variable pressure and temperature. On the hottest setting it generates steam which is great for cleaning stone paving slabs and stripping paint of vehicles!!

Probably use it every other week for washing the car and it has never missed a beat.

It's an Edge Wildcat. I guess it's always a gamble buying 2nd hand, especially with a piece of commercial kit as it could have had a hard life. But touch wood,I have been lucky and it was a good decision.

My K4 FC started leaking from the pump housing on Thursday, quick trip to my local Karcher centre who repaired next day.
Three year warranty came in handy.

Looking into this a bit more and the Kranzle seems to come out on top with spec and reliability.

Think a Kranzle will be my next purchase! I am a brand hoare

I bought mine off eBay & it has been brilliant.

^^^ i went down the same route, 15 - 20 years ago, Karacher, runs a treat, cost me £500ish (maybe a bit under) it needed a new hose and burner unit in that time and done alot of washing! hot water washers halved my cleaning time. Cheers

Well after singing the praises of my Kranzle, I went to use it at the weekend and it wouldn't build any pressure. So it's gone for a service, lets hope it isn't to expensive to fix 110 D250 SE HT

Had the bill for a service and repair. Apparently there was a blockage in the hose and a piston needed changing inside. It was down 20bar in pressure. So agreed to repairs and service, all in £200 give or take. Not to bad in my mind, I purchased it used 5 yrs ago for £200, cost me nothing til now so all in I'm down £400.
While it was in for service, I priced up the cost to replace like for like. £1200. So I'm really happy. Should get it back later today or tomorrow 110 D250 SE HT

Just bought myself a Kranzle today, Karcher gave up the ghost a while ago and much research led me to Kranzle. Very expensive but as it is German engineering should prove to be more reliable than the Karcher.
