United Kingdom 2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS DCPU Zermatt Silver
Interior light feed
Evening all,

I would like to tap into a feed to the interior light on my 2010 DCPU. I have an ifor Williams canopy, and with these dark nights it would be great to light up the bed when the interior lights come on. Led light sourced, but wondered if anyone had any advice on where to find a feed at the most convenient place.

Many thanks

Russel

At the light fitting it’s self. There is a ground nut present.
You may need to do a bit of soldering but you can mimic the factory switching and AS10 control by tapping off the back of the light terminals it’s self. Determine correct polarity. Load needs to be under 1A Max, ideally fused right next to the light fitting in Defender. Then if you need to change the fuse access is there though light fitting hole.

It won’t affect the rest of the lighting but you need LED in the LR lights too.
As I said keep the load under 1A max which with LED shouldn’t be a problem.

When it comes to trailer connection do you have the 13pin connection or 12N and S ? Or just 12N?

You might find pics in my gallery somewhere of what I did with my light in the LR. It was done tine ago but should be there somewhere. No Guts, No Glory.

Thankyou ever so much, that’s a great help. Not sure on the trailer electrics, just the standard 7 pin plug but I get the feeling that’s not answering your question!

I asked about the trailer plugs because I was wondering what plans you had for that connection. Thumbs Up No Guts, No Glory.

I think the Ifor Williams canopy is over the load bed of russgreenmans' DCPU rather than a trailer. Darren

Oh yes I see that now. I had Ifor Williams trailers and Horseboxes on my mind. Embarassed

It’s the galv rear canopy over the load bed. No Guts, No Glory.
