Are your headlights running on relays?
Either way, there is a resistor which gives a small amount of power to the headlights when the switch is set for sidelight only, you can disconnect it by bypassing the relay behind the dash or disconnecting the resistor. https://www.defender2.net/forum/post314514.html |

^^^^ This. I believe IIRC I had the same issue. Disconnecting the resistor did the trick. Then I fitted sealed blanks to the plugs to seal off once disconnected. Under the drivers side wing on a RHD and a 2 pole econoseal connector if I remember rightly. No Guts, No Glory.

Don't mean to derail the thread but always thought the front side lights would make suitable DRLs.
Is this a common mod? |
