Google search Land Rover Defender crashes if you carry kids and want a sleepless night.

I've seen a few first hand, on the road, club drive days and even the damage during slow roll overs whilst marshalling an Army navigation event.

I never saw the logic of carrying anyone in the back of a 90 that's made of cheese and no immediate way out in an emergency.

Modern vehicles are built to a standard that gives the occupants the best chance of getting out alive, who can complain at that...….

Twitbook selfie crowd. I cringe when I see people hold their phone in portrait to take a picture or film with

Found this video, a bit better camera work than the one a few posts up!

I think that video reinforces that I don’t like the design of that car even it it was or wasn’t called a defender. I just don’t like it, there are too many bits that don’t look quite right, like the front end and those weird back lights. I always thought the same with the D3 and never thought it looked quite right, when the d4 came out it was like they corrected all the weird looking features and I then became a fan. I love the interior of it but for me it needs a facelift or some sort of tweak.

I’ve always thought that the old Defender could do with a bit of a facelift, I think that’s just me though, as for the Disco 3 I always preferred the original D3 to the D4 and thought it cheapened it a bit compared to the original ? The bold lines and the squared off front end with the tailgate design always seemed to give it that design feature look, likewise the original Audi TT to me always looks better than the newer ones which look tacky ? Again there is an element of design on the TT which included the front lights and the shape of the roof, stolen partly from its close relative in the form of the 911, where if your talking design it kind of starts and stops right there !

The original teardrop shape first designed has remained because it can’t be beaten, a bit like the design of the humble push bike ! Two triangles welded together, it’s been reinvented how many times by monocoque frames or beams but it still goes back to the diamond shaped double triangle ?

Maybe they should have called the new one a freelander ? The moaning that went on when that was released Shocked
We had one of those as well ! For the time it was great, plenty of room but massively underpowered. DEFENDER XS CSW 08 TONGA GREEN

Apparently, there are people out on the streets demonstrating against it in Europe:

^ Off topic, but, Perhaps if Russia still occupied half of their country, they'd be entirely happy with the situation? Confused

First of all there are far too many people on that relatively short clip who sound like they have driven it ? Who also sound like they know what they are on about and as these here folk are some of the people who have spoken out about driving it Id like to think that they are ofay with the old platform being as so much emphasis was put on the old body on frame platform being weaker, "OLD" architecture ! there fore i am inclined to take their word as oposed to some one who has only "Hated it" on the internet.......because it bares the same name as the original ?

Hopefully more positive press will be released and some of us can begin to hope that "as stated in the article" for the 98% of the time that you need it to be more of an SUV road biased platform it does exactly that, As i am one of the only tiny few percentage of drivers on here who drive on road i'm keen to get behind the wheel, especially as they appear to have overcome the seat positioning which was at best pathetic !

If i were working off road as many Defender drivers seem to do, i would use a UNIMOG to traverse my workspace, having used these A LOT in the past when it was realised that the Defender was useless and had poor load carrying capacity i can reccomend them.... And for the tiny ammount of road miles that it left you would just love the road pressence !
