Check engine light reset.

Hi everyone, I recently came home after working away over Christmas and new year and started up the Landy.
I let it tick over for a little while, whilst I got ready to go out.
When I jumped in the landy the check engine and DPF “red” light was on.
Shortly after I drove away the red DPF became amber then cleared all together, however the check engine light has stayed on.
Will I need a code reader to clear this?
Any help appreciated and apologies if this has been discussed 100 times before.

You will need a code reader that can reset the light - cheaper ones can read codes but not reset.

But before resetting check what the code is so you can remediate if needed.

Depending where you are you may be able to borrow from another forum member near you.....I see that you are in Shetland - wow - however I am sure there will be other Defender owners there.

To just read and clear codes you don't need a Defender specific tool, a generic one will also do the job.

Thanks Kmac, I thought I might need it plugged in.
