I don't know - I'm not my Dad funnily enough. I was about 7, my memory of the incident is rather foggy. And AFAIK he tried to get some blokes to help him - being Surrey, he didn't get much response. The family behind us were up for the action taken too. They also had young, tired kids.

I'm sure you've smiled when someone's very stupid actions gave resulted in a bit of rough justice. Or are you above all that too?

Blimey - it's www.pious.net it would seem.

Anyway a good reason to be grumpy. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

OK I'll talk frankly to you DOTE, I gave you the benefit of the doubt on the towing thread when you completely over reacted, but nothing has changed, you continue to fly off the handle consistently and really angrily go for people, unstable to nut job comes to mind from past pm's I have had about you. Can't you see your OTT behaviour! So yes I have been ignoring you. You are also very down on other groups - a few from memory, overweight mountain bikers that can't get up a hill, middle class surfing wannabies in there VW's, fat people that sweat a lot, meditteranean slime-balls etc. It doesn't build up a very nice picture of you I'm afraid. So no, we won't be sharing a beer together if I move down. Seriously, think about how you come across.......!

He couldn't get out of the car park so he rammed it, probably wrote it off and drove away chuckling and sniggering - does that really smack of a sound person Shocked

It's not being pious it's just not normal behaviour again...you don't ram someones car, writing it off in the process because you can't get out, at least leave your number if it was an emergency!

No problem Zagato. You are actually mind crushingly dull and seem to do nothing other than add another layer of Waxoyl to your painfully over polished 110.

A shame - there are some good folk on here.

You and a few others really spoil what should be a fun forum.

Enjoy your fascinating life.

Cheerio. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Or try what my Dad did many years ago - a Fiat 127 blocked the entrance to a car park in Dorking at 9pm when us kids (at the time) were rather tired after a Pizza Express mission.

He asked at every pub and restaurant in the area to see if he could find the owner - no luck.

So came back, told us to hold on, fired up his near 300bhp BBR Mitsi Shogun (mk1 shape) and rammed the car out of the way. Damage to Shogun? Blue paint in bumper. Damage to Fiat? Almost certainly a write off.

Drove away chuckling and sniggering.

Back on the grumpy thread bit...

Men who wear sunglasses on top of their head (especially indoors) - generally t***ers.

Of course there's always exceptions to this rule.

But men who wear sunglasses on top of their head, driving BMWs (badly) - the perfect storm. Laughing

I have been known to do this in the 110, but only because my eyes react oddly to different light conditions. Sometimes when its cloudy I get a splitting headache and have to wear shades to help, then the sky clears and I can take them off. When driving easier just to move them up than put them away in the dash. 2011 110 USW

Why are so many policemen shaven headed these days? Steve.

I'm sure you are a very nice man, and therefore must be one of the exceptions!
Maybe I should have said 'on top of the head as some kind of fashion statement'.

Notice how I covered myself with 'driving BMWs (badly)', so as not to offend the nice BMW drivers out there?

Ireland 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 CSW Stornoway Grey
This didn't bother me until yesterday:

Towing a caravan for bloody hours from Holyhead to the Lake District in constant heavy wind and unrelenting p*ssing rain. Honestly thats the kind of weather we thought we'd left behind in Ireland !

Still we're here now and lovely it is too. And loads of Defenders and Series on the road around here I've noticed. Off to Windermere tomorrow to get 4 cheap tyres on the Mitsubishi as the dealer gave me a lot of extra goodies if I promised to !

Oh and anyone who lives up here - isn't Booths a cracking supermarket chain - good as Waitrose with a massive 'ale aisle'

And when we return on Aug 1st my Defender will be waiting ! What a holiday !

Sorry guys I need to back out of this thread now as I'm not grumpy any more Razz

+1 for Booths. Thumbs Up
(Wife is from Ulverston, family still there so we are regular).
Back to grumpy though - watch out for the traffic wardens in the Keswick Booths car park - you have to pay, we didn't realise 1st time & got stung! Very cross.
PS wife tells me you have to pay at Windermere too. Free at Ulverston (for now anyway).
