Water ingree

Hi all and Happy New Year

I've noticed water drips from the top of front passenger door frame quite a bit and I've usually got water in various places on the back of my td5 SW as well. Yesterday I noticed it's wet underneath the headlining as well but no obvious water above it. Could this simple be condensation just seems to get pretty wet in the back on floor and seats etc. I'm just looking for some ideas on common places to check for leaks?

Look up the Defender water ingress manual, it will give you indications of where to look and how to seal any leaks you may find.

I think you will find they nearly all leak.

The only real solution is to park it undercover in a garage.........

Haha yeah I just thought it would be nice not to have to sit on wet seats now and then.

If it doesn't leak water and oil, it's not a genuine defender, it's a copy

I had this on the drivers side. Looking at the join where the roof slopes down didn't show anything but I treated it with several applications of Captain Tolley's and it fixed it.

Note that it's best to keep going over it every 30 min for a few hours as I tried the lazy way of just doing it once but I guess the flex of the roof when driving undid that pretty quick.

Glad I didn't print it out.

So long as bottom half leaks too. Good old 80" was great, wash with hose inside and out!
It was a soft top too, so didn't leak at all

Ex scottish & southern 110 Td5 van (shed) with PTO driven winch (L-R special vehicles)
Before that, Disco 1, Freelander 1, 26105382 80" with a 1600cc (not much slower)
