Never bothered torqueing them in 40 yrs, just nice and tight will do, as access not best just tighten up and do a pull up on the spanner, assuming your are doing it with truck on the ground not on a lift.

thanks just at point wheel back on and getting back ground torque up ball joint to axle and so on

Like htb2 says tweak them up good and tight... If you try the figure you quoted, you will strip the threads

I did find the torque settings somewhere (can't remember where) when I did my TD5 many years ago and as previous posters suggest I did strip the threads on one of the bolts before reaching the required torque figure!!
Funnily enough the photo at the begging of the thread is mine (prior to stripping threads!!!). In the end I just used the best of the old ones as it was a weekend and I could not get a replacement. |

just do blurt out "click" when tightening and call it done

![]() fond this in older work shop manual 1993 my 115Nm or 84 ft-lb for two 1/2 unf bolts and nuts at rear end upper links to the pivot bracket and ball joint |
