Eh? Does the six pot or four pot BM/Merc better in your view then?! Some six pot diesels almost sound quite good when pushed. Stick a Miltek on a 3.0TDI Audi or similar on a 350CDI Merc or 30/35d engined BM and the sound really is quite pleasant. Effortless shove too. All four pot diesels sounds horrible - they do impressive things but the really are rattly as hell. Zagato - ermm, what about your extreme OCD? Sounds familiar. While I do my bit to do household chores, we have two entire rooms FULL of junk. And a garage. The mild OCD I have with my (push) bikes and cars does not extend to the home... MoG - Quick drive to a meeting and back in the BM - I indicated, let people out at junctions and smiled inanely the whole way Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

More like you will be pulled by the BMW Police and you will be reminded that the indicator stalk is for show, not for use, and that YOU own the WHOLE road......... then whisper in your ear 'You are late for a international business meeting'. Glyn |

Glynn - could you possibly explain what the word "indeekayturr" means; it appears to have been wiped from my memory the second our BM was delivered.
However I fancy contacting them for a rebrand idea for their estates and larger SUVS - "The Ultimate Dogging Machine" Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

Well since i put that little moan up on Sat morning after nearly being run over, the forum has gone a little sideways as they have a tendancy to do, I was only stating a fact i was not brand bashing, if it was a Fiat trying to run me down i would have said so, but many true words have followed, the asprinational brand comment was spot on and has definatly given the badge a bad name.
I think that they did wonders for Land Rover many don't agree but gave them good direction before the Ford investment. The six pots in the Range Rovers and the TD4 Freelanders were outstanding for their time eclipsed now by the Jag V6 and Tdci 4 pots but look what was there before the horrific Italian DDD in a Range Rover could not even pull a horse box, and they wanted to put the Perkins Prima in the Freelander the worlds loudest and most horrible diesil, i hated the Austin vans we had with them in, at the time Ford had the 1.8 non turbo diesil in Fiesta, Escort and Sierras that just blew it in to smitherines, So generally BMW is good let down as per usuall by a few pilots that should not be allowd them If everything is under control you are not going fast enough. TWELVE DEGREES here at 1pm today. That's night time AUTUMN temp not frigging day time mid Summer!
Grumble grumble emigration, etc. And what's with the ageing (I'm 36) hair thing? It f**ks off from your head then re-establishes itself all over your shoulders and back. And then starts to go grey. Age has thrown me every single curveball going. My pathetic attempts at re-buffing it (I do a stack of exercise and weights) aren't really offsetting the other old gittery elements. Grumble grumble... Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |
