Just had similar with my drivers wiper.
Dashboard had to come out to find the gear was stripped in the wiper gearbox. Best to change both gearboxes and flexi drive while you’re in there, and possibly the park switch. |

You could try lubing down the spindle for the time being, it could be binding due to corrosion and adding to it.
Beyond that though, it'll be wiper wheel boxes out and drive. You'd need new wiper arms and likely a puller too as well, as the wiper arms are a press fit on a splined spindle on the Puma. At least, most of the parts are worth replacing at once is advisable. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 Last edited by custom90 on 18th Dec 2019 7:05pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Zed...
you will have only used one third of the teeth on your wiper boxes. Mark the position before you take apart. Rotate through 180 degrees and you are on new teeth. I did this a month back and all is/was good. ( I renewed the drive cable too) Hope this helps Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... Why do you need new wiper arms?
I’ve removed puma wiper arms several times without a puller and refitted them. |

You don’t have to remove the Dashboard....purely loosen it.
Get the smaller screws below knee level..both sides. Then undo the bigger Phillips type screws, including the grab handle and the radio/centre console. I’ve found rather than struggle.... take the steering wheel off, remove the light/indicator Plastic supports and release the instrument panel too. The more you loosen the easier it becomes. It’s a fiddle..but not difficult Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... Just done this job on mine, here are a few pics of whats needed basically you have to get it back to the bulkhead to get to the wiper boxes,
Didn't remove dash completely but moved it well out of the way, you will also need to remove all the heater pipes as well, I removed the wiper motor, drive cable and two spindles as a unit then stripped, cleaned everything. It took me a whole day to complete this including taking loads of pics for reference.[/code] Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |
