How to vote if taken into Hospital.
My mother in law was taken into Hospital over the weekend and it's just occurred to get she won't be able vote today. Is there any provision for circumstances like this? Google doesn't help. All I can see if reference to Proxy voting but the deadline for that has passed. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I've worked as a poll clerk and presiding officer in the past... During training we are told that in these kinds of situations call the polling office. They can make last minute changes.

The unofficial answer is grab any willing female volunteer, give your mothers name at her polling station and place an unofficial proxy vote

I'm a Presiding Officer in a polling station. Contact your Council election dept. and ask about an emergency proxy vote. You'll have to go in to sort the details out and do it before 5pm though. Darren

Thanks all. Unfortunately we are stuck nowhere nearby so going to sort a proxy vote is out. I’ll see if my Father in Law wants to do it. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
