Corsetti / DRS roof console install
Started the install today. Had Already pre-installed the CB in a DIN housing and the 5 carling switches into the console and wired them all up, daisy chained, earth, power and interior lights for the switches.... the wires hanging down need to get routed down behind the passenger side B pillar to the battery / fuse box.

The interior light was moved over to it’s new spot, wired up, test fitted.

Unit is very well made, but as an extra measure to stop any potential rattling, added some plastic washers and put closed cell foam on the back, will fit dynamat sheets on the roof to soundproof it, the old stuff was starting to come away, then run some conduit for the wiring.

So far, it’s been measure a few times, drill once to install the rear bracket, four m5 rivnuts, and the front, 2 M6 rivnuts, to make sure it’s centre Very Happy

Tomorrow, will start the process of re-routing the wiring up to the switches and the CB. Might take a few weeks to finish it all off. Finally, cutting the roof lining, which will be measure 50 times, then cut, yet to figure that one out, but the instructions are decent, but even so.... deep breath on that one Whistle

After a few weekends working on this, finally all installed, headliner back in. Cutting the headliner was a deep breath moment, following the instructions, I drew around the trim bracket and then cut 1cm inside the line. Installing the headliner was a pain on my own. Had to trim the headliner when it was up in place to ensure the retaining bracket sat flush...

There is one area on the rear where it doesn’t sit right on one corner, but for now, it’s in. In the warmer weather, I’ll trim it again so it sits flush.

Most the work And time was routing the wires for the rear work lights, rear spots, front LED and compressor, CB radio etc, as well as my rear view camera mirror, had to plan it all out before, because once the headliner is in, that’s it.

Install time, approx 10 hours, quoted £1600 by a reputable LR specialist, cost of parts to install, wire, looms, connectors, approx. £100.

All that cutting would have made me very nervous. Very nice work. WARNING.

Excellent job! Looks to be a very professional finish. Wish that I had the confidence...

What rear view camera system did you install? Have been looking at these but there seem to be compromises on each one and some of the chinese imports seem to be too cheap to do a good job?
