The valves should just pull out, they normally get replaced each time you change tyres (in my expereince anyway).

Rims look great though! Thumbs Up James

You cut off the bit on the inside then pull the rest out. They're only pennies to replace.

done ..... removed the old valves and replaced by new ones; paintshop thought it was a difficult job but not at all Smile
Now wait a few days for the paint to harden and then will fit the new Cooper STT tyres; will post some pics with the result. Duct tape is The Force; is has a light side, a dark side and it holds the universe together.

Be interested to hear your views on the cooper STT’s. I currently run a set of 285/75r16 and to be honest I have found that I much prefer the BF Goodrich k02’s.

Cooper STT Pro & painted steel wheels

Finally the result, i'm very happy with the way the painted wheels match the paintwork of the 110.

This weekend i have planned a trip of ca. 200km so then i can find out how the Cooper STTs are ....
The wheels have ET0, i have removed the spacers and now the width 265 is a perfect fit in my opinion !

You got a good stance there with the 110 and will be also interested in the result of your journey with the STT pro's Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

What are these tyres like in the wet.

My original conti's are I think going to be changed soon.

I cannot decided on 18" wheels or just change the tyres for wider ones. (currently 225)

I've noticed in these damp conditions my traction light on more than it used to be Smile

I have STT PROS and I find them much better than the ST MAX that I had before. Quieter and so far less slippy in the rain although I tend to slow down a bit in the wet. Drove to Spain on them no problem. They grip well in the mud. These tyres look the dogs doodahs on a Land Rover.

Until now the STTs behave very good in the wet, no problems at all - noise level of the tyres on the motorway when driving 110km/h is ok, you can hear a slight hum but that's it. The Hankook Dynapros i had on my previous Defender were much noisier. And of course the look of these tyres...... Thumbs Up Duct tape is The Force; is has a light side, a dark side and it holds the universe together.
