Auction - 1972 Range Rover 'Two Door'

A friend was telling me about a lovely RRC he'd seen yesterday. After a bit of googling it looks like it was on it's way to auction at Imperial Wall Museum, Duxford tomorrow. As it's my birthday today, I wondered if anyone would like to buy it for me please?!

2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 SW Keswick Green

I had a K reg in Tuscan Blue 20 odd years ago and was my daily driver for 10 years. It came up for Auction at the NEC classic car show several years ago in a poor state, it went for over £5K. I spoke to the winning bidder and said I had some photos of it when I rebuilt it, he showed no interest at all

That's a strange reaction, how disappointing. We sold an old Case tractor complete with ploughman's mack to a local collector who fully refurbished it to an exceptional standard. The collector then sold his whole collection, so we went to the auction to see it again and spoke to the buyer. Turns out it was the original owners grandson buying it back, great to see it go 'back home'. James

The LWB 2A has been on eBay a couple of time and didn’t sell. I have to say it does look a cracking Land Rover especially if you want a LWB. Diesel. I wonder if that’s a later steering wheel, perhaps Slidey will be along to confirm

It was very strange James, I offered to send him a load of pictures of the rebuild which was done from the chassis up, also had the original rear number plate if he wanted it, he was very disinterested.

Sold for £11,800. Less than I would have expected, but maybe not at the moment. It seems that no-one is buying.

I see the Series II went for £10800 (top end of esitmate) and the Toyland reached £5,625
