Haven't seen a clamped car in a while. However saw this one in Marlborough today.
No tax (sorned), no MOT (expired Sept 2018). It is insured though... Click image to enlarge JB @Lodelaner Instagram Youtube greenlaning and other LR related content |

Using on a public highway without tax or test? Crush it! It is not a Defender, it is a One_Ten

I wouldn’t be so sure, I think the chain is threaded through the alloy. |

I'd be quite happy if they start clamping cars with no tax, mot or insurance! Bring it on! Not sure who is doing this? It say DVLA but would they actually be doing the clamping?
Sounds a good idea to me, if you make DVLA self funding, like the HSE. If they want more funds they have to go out clamping the illegals and fine them!! And what other taxes are they avoiding paying if they cannot be bothered to MOT, Insure and tax that car? Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

^^ Goodbye brake line if you try that. I think that the clamper should really have used the next size up in clamps, the one I use to secure my Defender (next size up) fits much better than that. Clamping for tax is clearly becoming more common-place, there's an Audi not far from Wolf Towers which spent a month with something that looked like a parking ticket on the screen. and now has a DVLA clamp and "untaxed" branding all over it. I don't know how long these get left before being removed and crushed, but the sooner the better IMO. No excuse. I imagine that the Marlborough one will be stripped by thieves or stolen in pretty short order. |

^^ I think it is very likely to get nicked, who would look twice at a bloke in hivis with a Hiab wagon lifting that away? DVLA contractor, off to the pound, right?
I give it a few days max. |

This is what they do in Belgium if parked illegally. The VW Polo driver ignored police notices that only Morgans were allowed to park outside the town hall that morning.

Online databases are not always correct... I'd hope the owner would be given a chance to prove otherwise.
And why crush? What's wrong with confiscation and selling on. That's value for us taxpayers. |

not sure how up to date the data base is.
I thought there was a lot blagging going on with people getting insurance and then cancelling it? |

I think the insurance companies have a set policy on non-payment of monthly instalments - with notifications at certain intervals so you will only remain on the database for a short time after you default.
I believe that's the theory anyway. |
