Great news, good to hear you're impressed with the Jimny.
So, I could buy both a brand new base spec Jimny and a pre-registered Volvo XC60 T5 (around £32k) for less than a 110. And still have change to tax them both for a few years. Shame about the 22month waiting list though. A bigger, wider, longer, "Jimny Plus" with a 2.0 litre engine would be even more up my street. |

I’ve been spending an unhealthy amount of time looking at the KAP Suzuki Facebook page. They’ll make you one of these...

Right, I was intrigued by this and as I was looking for a first car for my daughter who does horsey stuff one of these came to mind. I went on line on the chat thing and I was put in touch with a salesman from the garage of my choice. He answered my queries. That was about 6.30pm, now that is service. Anyway it would be £1000 deposit with delivery late first quarter in 2020.
I was looking at second hand 90/110's but good ones are expensive and like hens teeth. Considering a tdi/td5 Discovery if the right one comes up. But a new Jimny basic spec would be a good investment for years. As she lives away from home I want something reliable for her. Anyway great customer service from Suzuki. P.S. I have just received a transcript of my conversation with the salesman together with his name, photo and details. According to Parkers, £530 for the first year and then £145 per year, for all versions.
If only it had four doors and a heated screen, I'd be seriously tempted to replace our current Fiesta with one, just for how it looks and because my very old mum can get in and out of tall cars more easily. |

I look forward to seeing more of these on the roads, such a refreshing change from all the hideous bloated style over substance SUVs these days! Looks like its straight from the 80s!

Still wouldn't change my Defender for one but it's got to be the next best thing available in the real world these days (unless you need to tow or need space) seeing as LR have seem to have sold themselves out to the (wealthy) masses!

I have two defenders but after test drive could not resist ordering Jimny as winter daily driver. Winter road mainatnance here involves lots of agrresive chemicals on roads. Expecialy last couple of winters were bad. In May paid EUR 2000 deposit with scheduled delivery in October. Now the dealer postponed delivery to March. New orders now have waiting list around 2 years.
But it is not defender. Payload is 300 or 400 kg, not much customization options, almost no winter tires to choose from. Depriciation should be small because of long waiting lists and low volume. But defenders now have 0 or negative depeciation. I suppose maintanence will be much cheaper than for defenders |
