HD wolf wheels, OEM or...?
I'd like to get a spare set of HD wolf wheels with mud tyres (likely BFG 235/85 KM3s - i currently run BFG All terrain 235/85s on OEM wolf wheels).

Does anyone have any knowledge of the manufacturing quality of aftermarket brand wheels -- there's a big difference in price between Bearmach and OEM wolf wheels?

thanks in advance 110 Defender 300tdi & Penman trailer with ally exped top and roof tent

I have the 4x4tyres.co.uk Wolf STYLE ET0 rims, I have no quality concerns and balanced up fine, very pleased with them and a decent price too!

Hi have the "style" ones too. I think I got them from Paddocks.

Pretty sure I heard the load rating was higher than genuine and web-site says 1,250kgs but confess I am not sure how that compares Question Rob

Hmmm on that basis guess I’ll be powder coating my genuine wheels at the same cost as buying new aftermarket

No disrespect to Dan but there's no way that the load rating of an HD steel is 3500kg's. If that were true then there would have been no need for vehicles like the WIMK to use Blindo's. It depends which website you read but the actual rating is likely to be 1500kgs.

Aftermarket versions seem to vary a bit but the Terrafirma ones I've just fitted are also rated at 1500kgs. By comparison, the ones that Craddocks sell are claimed to be rated at only 1080kgs. Even that lower figure is not dissimilar to that of Boost alloys, so it's not really an issue for 90's and 110's. 130's do require a higher rated wheel though, hence never being supplied with Boosts. Darren

As I said, it depends on which website you read. For example:

Genuine Wolf rims (ANR5593 tubed and ANR4583 tubeless) are rated at 2200kg per rim.
Blindos are rated 1550kg per rim.

When Snatch and WMIK were introduced, the standard rim was ANR1534 rated at 1372kg per rim, hence the use of Blindos.

Genuine rims have recently increased massively in price (thanks, Landrover!) and will now set you back around £145 per rim.

Dan's reply may have been on the basis that Wolf rims are fitted to all 3500kg GVW Defenders, there is probably misleading product data associating these rims with a 3500kg vehicle weight.
