Lots and lots of discussions on here between the two. The Bilsteins used to be the go to shock, but it seems the Fox are now becoming more popular from what I read. James

I spoke to one of the chaps at Peterborough who works for Alive, he told me he was saving for a new set of bilstein but he has been in a 110 with the fox shocks and is now saving for them, a set of bilstein are around £300 and the fox are around £650 well worth the extra I was told.
I would recommend beefing up the rear anti roll bar at the same time 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8 2010 110 XS Utility 2.4TDCI 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 (gone) 2007 Discovery HSE TDV6 (gone) 1993 110 csw 200 tdi (gone) 1994 90 HT 300 tdi (gone) 1994 discovery 300tdi (gone) 90 hybrid 3.5 v8 (gone) Range rover bobtail 3.5 v8 (gone) |

Col1 when I rang Alive 8 weeks ago to order the new -1 90 springs my intention was to order the Bilstein shocks as I thought these were the “go to” set up along with the beefed up ARB but having had a long conversation with Alive I thought I would push the boat out and go with the Fox Shocks instead, yes quite a cost increase but I felt confident with what Alive had told me about it being worthwhile if I could afford it.
8 weeks down the line and WOW I am delighted with the setup, the Sumo bars are being fitted this week to complete the suspension and steering package (I’m not changing the steering damper) and I hope this can only be the icing on the cake with regard to handling. If I was to buy another defender 90 it would be one of the first mods I would do having now experienced it for 8 weeks and nearly 3000 miles Hope this helps you make your decision. 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |

I fitted Suli’s Fox dampers, I personally fitted the bilsteins to mine. If I were to do it again, I’d buy myself the Fox’s. They’re just on another level of standards and engineering.
They look and feel much better in your hands. Also having been in Sulis 90 they handle lovely too. 👍 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html Instagram - @r22oyp Roy |
