Duff syncro ? Does it change smoothly down if you double declutch?
Ashcrofts recommend Dextron 3 in their rebuilt LT77 boxes. TBH unless you want to pull the gearbox out and get it repaired, I'd use the brakes more and change down at sub-graunching speed HTH Mo The Land Rover 90 - Many are called, few are chosen. 50 Shades of Pennine Grey |

Did they replace the thrust washers in the hubs?

I've tried to double and triple de-clutch and it doesn't make a difference. I drive like you say, slow down to the slow speed then change to 3rd, but sometimes you need a downshift to 3rd when towing, regardless it should be working spot on after the rebuild. |

I assume they did, like I said i had it rebuilt and my instructions were I wanted 'as new'. |

Indeed it should, I agree. Looks like it's gearbox out time and back to the rebuilder.
Have you spoken to them ? Mo The Land Rover 90 - Many are called, few are chosen. 50 Shades of Pennine Grey |

I have spoken but it's the hassle of it all.
In his words is he'll sort it out if I take the box to him, but that's the problem I'm not able to do that. |

I understand your frustration but unfortunately the only way to resolve the issue is to remove and return it for the remanufacturer to repair it

My hope was that someone would know so i could fix it myself on the weekend.
Since the baulk rings are new could it be the gear itself ? What would you say ? |

There is no magic fix unfortunately. You’ll have to remove the box, unless the shifter is incorrectly adjusted.
Might be worth talking to Ashcroft’s I always find them very helpful. |
