For those like me who are finicky about hacking up the dash DIY or don’t like the bolts on the raptor dash
mud are in the process of making a double din system for post 03 defenders https://www.instagram.com/p/B2bMRJiHv3r/?igshid=16gd15477j906 I'm on IG: https://www.instagram.com/osloblue42/ Current: TD5 '110 "Lucinda" Thread here: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic62562.html |

It about time someone offered this rather than a panel that’s screws on.

Will the offered part be the entire panel (including switch holes), or just the center piece where the radio installs?
edit: added pic for clarity of question. is the new part the red or green surrounds. Thanks. Last edited by commoguy on 18th Sep 2019 1:46pm. Edited 1 time in total |

About time someone made one. I'm using the screw on panel but quite like it because I have carling switches in the bigger holes cos I have farmer spec without electric windows 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)

I'd hope its a whole replacement panel. There are so many badly hacked ones out there a cheapish fresh one would be well received.

I am not a fan of hacked stuff, be great see if mud do pull this off. They have done a few items since I last bought from them, stuff I could have done on my 300, this one is getting those upgrades this time around at some point One thing don't bother with the mud cup holder thing that goes around the gearbox tunnel. yeah it fits but you cannot pull the pass seat fully forwards though. Oh good lord that would be perfect... Truely amazing... It'd have to also come in the Brunel silver as well mind you.
Hurry up Mud and get this sorted... |

Is this really being produced? I just bought that double din metal plate with the intention of adhering it onto my original plastic dash piece and then upholstering it all in thin leather.

I’ve spoken with Mud two days ago and they have confirmed that a single piece dash fascia with the double din opening is now in production by their supplier. They said realistically speaking that we should expect them in January.

It’s not on there yet. I’m going to contact them again next week to see if they have any updates on timing, etc.
