Single DIN with 3" screen
I thought this is an interesting solution.... for those not wanting a double din setup or a flip out screen.

Gives you a reversing camera facility as well... decent audio options too such as rime alignment and 13ch eq.

Not as good looking as the LR option at a grand... but it's only 180quid!

I think you’re right. Great alternative as I’m not a fan of either DD or Flip. I’d prefer a stand alone GPS and this acts as a tidy option for reversing. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

After 7 years of the original LR unit (most of which it was switched off because of the awful quality) I finally installed a new one - yesterday - and it was the model you point to above! it came with the camera, although I haven't fitted that yet.
I also fitted focal speakers and focal ibus 2.1 sub and the difference is amazing!

I've got the same speaker set up. Great. The sub is impressive despite its size. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

This looks good, especially with the very subtle reversing camera. Is it plug-n-play with the factory fitted hands-free mic?

Reviews of the camera are poor, has anyone got a sample from the head unit of the reversing camera in use?

I fitted a reversing camera bought for about £12 from eBay and I'm impressed. Note that the new head unit would not work with my "old" hands free mic, which was connected to the "original" Alpine head unit, so, fitted the mic which came with the new JVC unit and all is well. I concluded that, whilst the small jack plug is the same size, Alpine & JVC seem to wire the plug differently?
Interestingly, this is the only unit I've ever owned which allows search and selection of tracks or albums when connected by Bluetooth. 2015 90 Hard Top

Firstly a big Thank-you to whoever first spotted this DIN unit.

Installed yesterday with non-JVC camera. One that has infra-red and wide-angle. Also installed the Focal speakers.
Plus another camera on the car transporter.

It’s just brilliant. Camera’s work a treat and the sound is better than the Bang and Olufsen stuff in the Wife’’s posh Audi.
Note: truck also has massive sub-woofer and separate amp pre-installed.

You're welcome. I've not fitted one yet... but will do soon.

Regards to the two cameras you have fitted... how do you swap between the two?

Just read the spec sheet, such a shame the butttons aren't RGB to allow colour matching to your dash. Unfortunately that's a deal breaker for me Big Cry 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Each camera has it's own 4-pin cable, one from the trailer, and the other from the hitch assembly.

I just reconnect the trailer camera when I need to take transport the car. It takes about 30-seconds - you remove the rubber sheath and unscrew collar and plug in the cable attached to the car trailer. The connections are waterproof and cables are protected when not in use.

Regards the DIN display colour. I thought I would be bothered by this. But the OEM fit Alpine was the same blue hue. Now it is installed all the benefits outweigh the lack of colour matching. TBH - I cannot remember what colour the interior lights are anyhow! Laughing

Some pics below. As I mentioned the sound is fabulous, DAB aerial works even with heated screen, and I can see the tow-ball and behind the trailer when towing the car. So a win-win for me.

I quite like the look of this unit, for the reversing camera screen as much as anything, as a replacement for my factory Alpine. Can anybody that's fitted one tell me whether it's compatible with the factory sub-woofer on the back of the cubby box, please? Darren

I've fitted this (will get some photos eventually!). There is a sub out but I don't have the factory sub so can't comment on that. Was all just plug and play, but (as mentioned above) you have to use the JVC mic that comes with it.

My only issue is that the camera flashes up a message about using your eyes when reversing along the top of the screen. Can anybody confirm that this is being thrown up by my cheapo camera, rather than the head-unit?? As the screen is already small enough that flashing banner does my head in.

-Subwoofer: Mine is a 3rd party sub. But I cannot see any issue with using the factory one.

-Camera "warning": I don't have this warning message. TBH. I can press the "camera" button and I get the rear view camera with no warning.

I think the unit is very good for the price and it works really well with my setup. Note: I have 2 cameras, 1 on the car transporter and 1 on the rear, so I have to unplug 1 to use the other. This is a very simple setup and the connectors are waterproofed.
