A Bit surprised at Halfords selling these so that any scroat can buy
https://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/to...ut-remover Laser Locking Wheel Nut Remover has a deep internal reverse thread. The reverse thread grips the outside of a wheel nut allowing removal without the need for security sockets. Ideal if you have lost your security socket and need to change your wheels. O know locking wheel nuts are not great but with these things, it sort of negates the security you think you have got... For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 Last edited by gilarion on 5th Sep 2019 2:15pm. Many years ago I had an Audi A4 serviced by a main dealer. Two weeks later I had a puncture but couldn't find the socket for the locking wheel nut as it was sat on the mechanics bench 200 miles away!. AA man turned up with one of these "universal" sockets and changed the wheel for me. That was at least ten years ago. So definitely not new. Defender 90XS SW

Can't see the point of locking wheel nuts when these have been available for years, only causes me inconvenience. Apart from the spare!

locking wheel nuts whilst not overly secure at least help slow down or delay a poorly armed thief if they dont have one of these, any visual deterrent can only help off put the thieving scum 2015 HT XS 90

I binned the "locking" wheel nuts off the Disco following a laning trip to Wales where I got two flats on the same trail and had the mother of all jobs getting them off without causing myself an injury. However with one of those Halford jobbies it would've been a cinch!
The world has moved on - although not available for LR/RR I've used these are on a couple of other cars and they're bleddy good! Cost the same as an excess. Those look great. We need to swamp their inbox with requests for a Defender version.
