David Cameron told the BBC to stop using the name Islamic State as he believed it gave them legitimacy. Presumably the Beeb came to an agreement and started using 'so called...' I prefer the term Daesh used by both Arab and our European nations as it is known to really p them off. So called Defender is a good shout. |

From what I read, I thought it was the leaders of UK Muslims who objected to their faith being linked to a bunch of overseas thugs and Satanists.
I think they actually asked for them to be labelled "so called" because it did not reflect their faith or their Koran. I found that encouraging. |

Is it true that Land Rover Monthly had to suppress the September edition because it featured the new Defender? As always with magazines the September issue would have come out in August and that would have pre-emptied LRs big release. Peter

Brucemknx - here is the photo and link to the video. I was impressed by what “ the sketch monkey” did in under 15 minutes with the “Bond” pic.. I subsequently noticed that LRinky had posted a photo back on page 79 to the same, so that’s why I deleted. I don’t think he had the link to the video though: Click image to enlarge 2005 LR3 - original owner - still going strong - Great Uber for my goats and rescue vehicle for the ATVs. |

Naks, what they didn’t tell him was that once he’d seen it he wouldn’t be allowed out of the factory until September 11th Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Ehm, no. It's simply got to be called the 'Land Rover Obranca'. Google translate it... --- 2006 Defender 110 SW 300Tdi • 2011 Ford Ranger XLT crewcab • 2015 Defender 110 Station Wagon Utility TDCi |

You have conflated the physical tests and the software add ons. Software add ons are not relevant when talking frontal design. The figures I have quoted above are for the physical tests and show the scores are not that far apart, D5=25.6 and Wrangler=23.9. In fact, in one of the tests the Wrangler actually bests the D5.
Interesting to note that Jeep didn't take your advice on needing 5 stars "for a worldwide selling car" and seem to be making the numbers JLR can only dream of... 2018 was Jeep's best sales year on record and that was down in part to it's best selling model and making record sales of...Wranglers - 240,032 of them. |
