Could be anything really.
Start with air filter, pipework etc. Then try turbo wastegate actuator for sticking Then try unplugging the maf sensor and see if things improve 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Just thinking out loud.
Brakes aren’t stuck on are they? So can’t drive at full revs? Just trying to tie up with sudden brake failure? Brake wise is fluid level ok? If not check pipe along rear axle. |

I had a similar problem caused by a combination of gunked up MAP, duff MAF, bit of oil in red ecu plug and a fuel connection to the engine (can't remember the exact term) that needed replacing.
Every few months I need to clean the MAP to regain full power now. Think most of this has been said but this was just my experience and helped by the good folks on here to identify. |

Make sure the fuel pump is working, had a Discovery Td5 and the pump was not working but would run and give similar symptoms to you, not revving past 3k etc.

Sounds exactly like when my fuel pump died. If you hit the tank a few times on mine it jumped back into life.
Does the fuel pump run when you first turn on the ignition? |

Fuel pump, that's the one I was after (above). Mine made the priming noise but for too long and varying degrees of loudness when it packed in.

I had the same problem 2 weeks ago. Lack off power, not reving past 2700 orso. And yes it was the fuel pump.
I expected that the engine wouldn't run without the pump but is does. The new pump is a lot quieter. So it probably was telling me it was dying only I didn't understand him.
