Hmmm, the topic of accessories (or modifications) is probably becoming a major point for the new Defender. I doubt that in today's (or tomorrows) world with CO2, noise regulation, emission based taxes, OHS, you get away with fitting a cherry picker in most markets. Guess emergency and other big clients have ways to get around with different registrations but for the single user approved/ tested accessories are probably the only way to prevent being caught out. I don't think this is just a LR problem, more a reflection of the world we live in (with all the layers ). Hopefully the accessory market will jump on it the quicker the better. The bigger, broader range of accessories, the easier to adopt for individuals. Who knows, maybe SVO will join the party. m |

Apparently yes, but it doesn't look very 007. Surely they would have had a better looking vehicle for that purpose. 2007 90 Puma - Love it - Best car I have ever owned. 1989 Ninety 200tdi - Love it - Second best car I have ever owned. 1951 80" Series 1 - Love it - Third best car I have ever owned. |

I'm disappointed, a bland old blob indeed from the front - the Lego gave me hope but there's just so little reference to the classic, it's far too generic. Even the roof is just a curve like any other - lets hope the side & rear look more distinctive. I'd buy it over the monstrous D5, and probably over any other generic SUV, but it's a shame - it could have been much more interesting - think I prefer the DC100. |

Jeep management have just woken up, seen the picture, cancelled their morning meetings and decided to have a lie in for today.
The black paint does not give too much away in terms of detail so not the most helpful of colours but as this is due to be seen in the next Bond movie I would guess that this version is not a preproduction but the actual car/suv Let’s hope the Ford Bronco is more manly and comes over here. |

The Lego model looks good; it has a flat front and is boxy. This does not. It's an absolute clanger. Right up there with the offset rear number plate on the D5. |

Yeah, this is essentially what the D5 should have been and it wouldn't have taken a design genius to make the lights/grille a little more Defendery. I was all for loving it but without a pickup version (I'm not sure if it's true but I read that the platform won't work with a pickup body) I don't see how they are going to take any sales from the DCPU market and do anything other than just cannibalise their own sales. Was all for giving them the benefit of the doubt but if prices really are starting at Disco prices what is the point of this Defender? https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews |
