Exhaust Mid Box
The exhaust mid section (standard mild steel) is off while I remove the transfer box. It's not in good condition so I am considering replacing it. Does anyone know of an "off the shelf" straight through section in mild steel.
Sorry, should have mentioned it's a Tdci 2.4 90 H/T

I’d remove it. I bet you can’t notice the difference. I haven’t on either of the 110’s I’ve owned. Plenty of cheap ones about.

I wouldn't say it's much louder at all without the midbox. Certainly not a drone, but maybe my tyres hide the noise.

Just given one away!! I had the straight through pipe and it makes no difference to the noise at all. The dpf does that for you.

Am I right in thinking that the 2.4's didn't have a DPF, only the 2.2's?

No DPF on a 2.4 Ive done it on mine worth doing just to save the weight. At idle it has a nice deeper tone , above idle no noticeable difference in noise. I brought terrafirma but it was a mare to fit as the angles at the end were all wrong and I had to cut off and reweld the hangers buy a better make DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Thanks for your comments.

Has anyone bought one that fits without having to modify to fit.

The cheap SS one from paddock fits just fine. Don’t forget gaskets as well; 2 bolt for one end, 3 bolt for the other.
