As ever though, if you rebuild your own engine. You know what you have.
Whereas with another engine, apart from it being at least 21 years old, you have no idea what sort of knuckle dragging gorilla has worked on it. Similarly, if it is that good an engine, why isn't it in a vehicle? It is not a Defender, it is a One_Ten |

Yes that was a thought, however it is in a disco with a rotted out chassis so genuine reason for its being, I also know the owner and where he lives

pretty common fault on them, quick fix bush trick is brass key in and weld it up- remove brass key and bingo
