looking at a few of the ideas on this thread, it should also be considered what would happen if you were in a heavy crash.
I wouldn't trust some of the standard (push in) brackets to always hold the extinguisher in place and a 2kg canister flying around the cab is gonna put a nice dent in your head.

Mine's mounted on the rear side of the dog / cargo guard, not as quick to get at in an emergency but hopefully won't smash my skull in.... Rolling Eyes

Giving this old thread a bump as I'd like to mount a fire extinguisher.

More ideas and photos would be appreciated.

If you've got some money (unlike me 😁), consider a halon extinguisher. Make much less mess in the event you have to use it. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Pretty sure you will find that Halon has been technically illegal for years except for certain uses (Aircraft, etc.) so you may struggle to even find one.......

The EU ban on the use of Halon in fire extinguishers actually came into force in October 2000 and was implemented in the UK in 2003, as a result of scientific research linking Halon and other CFC’s to Ozone depletion. The ban in practice is not total.

Only problem is powder can get compacted over time when carried in a vehicle

Ok, no Halon, what am I thinking of then? When I was in a car club around ten years ago everyone was into these extinguishers that didn’t make a mess. Could have sworn it was halon. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Quite possibly but very difficult to get hold of without a legitimate reason or some very 'good' connections.......

I've just noticed that I contributed to this thread nearly three years ago, when I had a different vehicle! On my current 110 USW, I've made use of the dead space in the trim for the non-existent window on the hinge-side of the rear door. I made some brackets from ali channel that bolt to the top and bottom of the side panel, behind the trim:
