Grrrr.....

ATTENTION ALL ROAD CYCLISTS....... In particular to the budding Lance Armstrong's in their spray on Lycra mankinis that use the narrow twisting village roads around by us.....

Riding two abreast on these type of roads is illegal .... check your highway code. Single bl**dy file please...

And.... relax.....

Morning everyone Thumbs Up Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Absolutely agree with that. "London Lycra louts" they are called around here. They all pour out of London at the weekend and just choke up the roads. If they are not single file or two abreast they bloody well are when I pass them Twisted Evil

I did a cycling trip around Europe with a largish group and we made sure we were single file or two abreast only when it was OK to do so. When my knee went I bought a bloody great 1300cc new motor bike Twisted Evil also another very good way of crowd control Whistle

Forget your sports cars, Lotus, BMW, Audi's etc - you haven't tried anything until you get on a muscle bike with 0-60 under 4 seconds - puts one hell of a grin on your face Very Happy She's six years old now and still missing a hand Shocked

I like this thread ...

I thought about adding a moan about a BMW driver who thinks that driving up the hard shoulder to get to the services is sensible but I won't ..

then what about smug people in skodas, they all say "it's just like a VW" but it's not because it has a SKODA badge but no..

I don't have much to be grumpy about, not when compared to the guy who just posted a problem with his £1500 LED headlights that have just started to leak ... now that's a Big Cry

I have driven a few sub 4 second to 60 cars that can carry 1-3 passengers, have a boot and corner far far quicker than any muscle bike - they also don't try and kill you incessantly and stay dry when it rains.

Never "got" the bike thing, never will.

Also don't get the anti cyclist thing - the cyclists I see are polite and ride well. Yes there is the odd berk but nowhere near as many as the number of utterly appalling drivers who almost use their tin boxes as a weapon. Until they are out of the car - then they start to cry.

but skodas are made by vw, so its not "just like a vw", it IS a vw with a skoda badge but much less money. i m from the generation who laughed at skodas when they were terrible. now they are VERY good cars with great torquey engines, reliable build quality and mechanically superb in terms of reliability.

Skodas are NOT Volkswagens and are made of inferior parts and low grade trim levels. Local taxi firms run them here and they run wheel bearings quarterly but they are easy to repair and parts are readily available from Lego. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Take it that you own a Skoda? I once owned a V W Caddy and it was made by Seat and it was total "rubbish" too. Skodas are junk but at least they charge proportionately. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Well informed replies from you..... FACT... Skodas are a mile off the build quality of V W and Audi, in fact they are rubbish as you say. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Zagato - I should have said that despite never getting the bike thing, "naked" muscle bikes are seriously sexy (as are some superbikes).

Sub 4 seconds cars I've had a steer in? Evo FQ360 (3.9s), 911 Turbo and a Caterham loony rocket. They all feel VERY quick. Even my sub 6 second car feels pretty nippy so the above feel stupidly fast.

I REALLY want to try a 997.2 Turbo S though - 2.9s to 60!!! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.
