I can see myself driving a VDJ 79 but not the Jeep. Looks too modern and the wheelbase looks a bit on the long side?

That first Jeep looks very familiar.
Yes, I would have bought it if there was a sensible way to get it home. Been looking at jeeps ever since. Click image to enlarge |

I quite like the Jeep wranglers and the new pickup, however I would never own one due to the following connections - unfortunately it’s become a bit of an Icon:-

79 series any day of the week.
As an aussie (but living in the uk) I'd buy one as soon as I landed if I went back to Aus. I love my 90 and suits me really well here in the UK... but I would not want rely on it when really remote in Aus with basically no support. 79 cruiser every time. Might be boring etc but when you are 500miles from a tarmac road and its 45deg... reliability is king! |

It’s a shame you’re so afraid but it’s 2019 and things have moved on. I’m sure the people who matter will accept you for what you are. Be proud. |

I'm full of pride to be a Wrangler owner - tempted by a Harley Davidson as well just to ensure that the message is clear

It's pride week and work and no one has mentioned a Jeep? There was however a Club Tropicana themed party which was a riot.

I'd happily run a Landcruiser if any of the more utlitarian ones were available in the UK - but I would sooner run a G-Class, Im lucky I get to drive them regularly and would not hesitate to buy one if I could afford one.
I have had the pleasure of a G63 AMG for the last few days.......What a machine. Chris |
