It can be totally done in situ. Thirteen screws on the tunnel cover, two 10 mm on the parking brake lever and you will have complete access. Don’t need to remove any of those to check the grub screw though, just pull up the shifter boot and remove the knobs, undo the shift lever and remove the turret. You’ll have full access.

hi thanks for the reply got the housing off last night, also had to remove the transfer box mountings to allow the transmission to drop down to allow the selector fork to clear ! I had previously removed the turret and checked the front grub screw, total waist of time and effort as the grub screw was tight and the gear selector was tight and notchy with the housing removed and stayed tight until I removed the rear prop and hand brake assembly (X brake) then the selector shaft became free so I put the selector housing back on but still cant select reverse !
scratching head now is it gear box, transfer box cheers kevin |

Have you set the bias springs properly? That can affect finding reverse. If so its in the gearbox not the t- case.
