I don't like thew adverts either.......but then I am not paying towards the site.
Martin if the "sponsors" who I think benefit greatly from Defender2 don't want to pay. What would a membership system cost us for Advert free use of Defender2? Just a thought Regards Rob |

G4UJS good suggestion, I’d happily pay rather than have these adverts popping up, I do realise not only the monetary costs of the forum but also your time Martin which is greatly appreciated by us all.
Would be interesting to get other forum members feedback on this, perhaps a poll? Initially it maybe hard to set up, effectively having to lock us out until we pay our subscription then having made payment your allowed access, I’m sure it may not sit well with some after all you can’t please everyone all of the time but also there is no such thing as a free lunch either. Hopefully we can have a sensible thread here with people making useful suggestions to aid Martin in keeping this excellent forum running ![]() 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |

I assume that the advertising uses one of these cunning (and scary) methods for detemining your "special interests" and targetting the ads?
For some reason I seem to be getting ads about gabion baskets and lifting equipment! I am certainly not getting the more risque end of the market! ![]() I am happy to accept ads as a necessary evil (I'd rather they weren't there) provided that they don't become too intrusive. Another forum I used to be involved in in a small way I ditched entirely because the ads became so overwhelming that normal forum conduct became in my opinion impossible. |

I initially thought I would be happy paying to get rid of the adverts, but looking at the adverts excossack is getting, I am not so sure now
![]() Seriously, I wouldn't mind a subscription. I am not sure how easy it would be on this kind of a platform, but many apps have free versions with adverts, or you pays your money to get rid of the adverts. Not sure what others think? |

Ads service is ubiquitous Google ads.
I'm just running this for a day or so at the moment to see what the feedback is and get a small amount of data on potential revenue from the ads. ![]() ![]() |

Martin, excuse my ignorance, but how do the ads work in the favour of the forum? Is it on a payment per click basis, percentage of transactional revenue spent following the ad, or a nominal fee just for being on our screens?
Obviously I understand if you dont wish to divulge. ![]() 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

James does that mean you didn’t see the advert showing the two very hot ladies stripping off to reveal the new Defender early, I didn’t notice the long awaited reveal of the defender but their was some impressive bodywork on show and the sump guard certainly impressed me
