Hi
Firstly odd noises travel around the truck so if you feel it coming from one area it may be the opposite. I had something similar and finally traced it to the panhard rod Bush. Could not see it on my own. I had to get the wife to wiggle the steering then it was plain to see. Otherwise get a pry bar and check all bushes from front to back. I'm your case I don't think it is a broken spring but again worth checking. Best of luck |

Damper bushes would be a strong contender.

Check the sleeves are still on the ends of the springs. If they aren't you can get a twanging noise as you drop off a kerb. Also check your steering damper hasn't worked loose on the chassis end. That makes some interesting noises. Don't ask me how I know

Thank you guys for prompt response..i will be checking those over weekend..
@markb110 Thats what i thought so, but then i drove truck very very slow(human walk speed) over small bump at parking, with open window and i can confirm that noise appear when truck goes over with front wheels, while rear wheels over same bump, produce no sound of any kind whatsoever.. |

Let us know what you find, I'm hunting down my own deep clunk from below. Already bought shock bushings as those were already bad the last time I checked. Still, I suspect that there maybe other lurking clunk sources that need to be dealt with. I haven't changed out any bushings at all until this upcoming shock bushings.
Since this is the case, what are the bushes and components I need to check and / or replace? Sorry if it seems I'm hijacking this thread but could help you too, I reckon? |

could be the top of the shock turret rusted out... a long shot I know but its a moisture trap and thanks to the covers, you dont get to see them much. I had one that had completley rusted out leaving a ring on the top of the shock that bade a heavy clunk if i did a speed bump at anything over 20. this was on an old 200tdi so yours might be a bit young for this to happen.

I've got replacement shock absorber bushings, both upper and lower, for all 4 shocks. Hopefully this will solve my clunking issues as well.

Hey guys,
just to make sure it's the correct part you are talking about... The ones in the photo (552819) are for the anti-roll-bar connections. The correct part for your shock absorbers is 552818. They should be quite a bit firmer. Here you can find the part numbers for the shock absorber bushes: https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/ekmps/sh...shocks.png |
