Hope the picture shows properly. My transfer box is leaking from the area just above the filler hole. Think this is the end of the intermediate shaft?! Any help would be much appreciated towards a fix for this problem.

solved this myself this weekend, transfer box off, shaft pushed back, o-rings replaced and sealant applied. back together and fingers crossed it won't leak again! 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

Those of you who have done this, can you tell me how you went about setting correct bearing preload for the intermediate gear?

Piece of string, spring balance and some dodgy maths. There’s a Bearmach video on YouTube that demonstrates it much better than I could explain it. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html
