Grafty’s defender is fab and it fits in with the ‘cool surf dude’ look found in our area, great 90 with more bells and whistles on than the SAS would ever need!
The lights hidden behind the grill are really smart and some thing that I may think about some time in the future, if I ever change the spots on the roof. I know the thread is for light bars ... but here are my spots ! Retro, round and bright ... ! Looks good Smb, I don't have the roof rack to mount it on so it would be well off the drivers side by looking at it today. Think I might just go with spot lights to keep it all centered - should keep the OCD at bay

Honcho,
The lightbar isn’t mounted on the roof-rack, but on a lightbar bracket that is bolted into the gutters above the front doors. Can’t remember who I bought the bracket from but if I find out I’ll let you know |

The bracket came from ROCARD, but don’t know whether they still do them or even still in business

Click image to enlarge 54" GRP 4x4 light bar. Positives: Not a total China special but not the most expensive by a long way. The thing that sold me was the mounting brackets that bolt to the gutters. Really tidy option! Drops the light bar down to the very top edge of the windscreen. Very bright. Negatives: Suffered from the age old light bar whistle but fixed with some edging trim. The wiring harness is useless if you're trying to get it to work with a genuine front fog/number 2 switch. These are OSRAM. Not 100% happy with how I have them mounted at the moment but they seem to be pretty good quality for the price.

Appreciate I'm resurrecting an old thread but another thumbs up for the GRP 54" Nighthawk bar. The fixings bolt straight into the gutters, and drilling a 3rd hole and fettling the door trim you can have a very tidy install for the wire into the cab. In response to Baron - GRP now sell the bar with a inch wide strip of 5mm rubber which solves the bar whistle.
Pros: Mega light output, quite ridiculous actually. Really easy to fit. Cons: Will incinerate small wildlife and bushes if they get too close to the beam. Wiring loom not long enough (easily solved with a bit of extra wire and some connectors (£20)). If wired to battery as recommended in wiring diagram, small red LED is permanently switched on. I had a 50” fitted to my old 90
The lightbar mounts were to mount on a roll cage of some sort of atv/ Honda Pilot Etc , bought from eBay Mounted to a spotlight bar, with the 4 x spotlight mounts cut off Worked pretty well , I liked having it mounted in line with the top of the windscreen, looked quite Evil 😈 Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |
