Hu Guys
I’m aware this has topic has been skirted over a few times on other threads . I can see that land rover recommend the Texaco cold climate PSF but I’m struggling to find anyone nearby who stocks the stuff . I need to change the power steering box today as its the only window of opportunity I have. So the question is can I pop a good quality steering fluid in instead and if not why not ?! I’ve been on comma oils website and popped in my number plate , they don't recommend any of their products. However if i put a pre 2007 model into the search, they appear to manufacture a fluid for that. Same steering box as 2007 on. So even more baffled https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

Land Rover dealers can provide the specified Power steering fluid. Probably cost an arm and a leg though

Motul 45750 is their recommendation .
I just spoke to the local Land Rover specialist and he repeats what others say. Only use Texaco LR Cold Climate 14315 Luckily he’s got a bottle or two I can purchase but no idea what you’d do if you were in the arse end of nowhere in deepest Africa !! https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

So I went to pick some up from a closer Land Rover specialist than the one I rang , they said they use Morris CHF and always have and apparently it’s the same stuff in a different bottle !

It looks to be Pentosin CHF 11s based, the Texaco as far as I am aware is the only approved CHF fluid by Land Rover for Land Rover but I do not see why any quality CHF 11s fluid would not be suitable.

I'd have thought if it meets the sane specs then its fine. I'd assume LR was sticking to brands again unnecessarily.
I had similar with the anti freeze, LR recommended Texaco then too yet Motul for example meets the same specs.. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
