Belgium 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 X-Tech LE Nara Bronze
Tilted
Defender is leaning to the driversside (LHD). Replaced springs and shocks, with no change. Articulation is 2-3 cm less on the rear left side.

What else could be the reason?

I had the same problem, turns out the front springs were on the wrong sides. The rear ones were fine but just having the front ones the wrong way round managed to tilt the whole truck, i swapped them over and it sat perfectly square.

Not the problem: it was fine before, then one day I had the issue, before the spring and shock swap. Must be domething else.

Hello zone30

I measured mine when I got it as I noticed a slight variation (admittedly not as great as yours)

Front measured the same, the Rear was around 10mm lower Drivers Side (RHD)
I thought this could be as this side has the most loading, as it always has weight on the Drivers side

I found this chart...which I took to be right...

My 90 is as follows (4 seat station wagon, 2550 Kg)
Front - Driver's side REB500200 Red/Green/White
Front - Passenger side REB500220 Red/Green/Orange
Rear - Driver's side RKB500270 White/Green/Pink
Rear - Passenger side RKB500270 White/Green/Purple

Around 3 months ago I fitted Spring Isolators both top and bottom giving a 20mm lift overall
I noticed that the rear off-side spring was 180 degrees 'out' in comparison to the others, so for
'symmetry' I rotated it whilst fitting the Isolators. She now measures better halving the discrepancy so
<5mm difference now, and I see that you can buy 6mm Spacer Discs for correcting these small amounts.

I was told, but others may know more here, that LR use to vary the Spring Rating, like the chart, but towards
the end they moved to a common Spring on both sides of each axle at the rear, for some models, mine is different on all corners, I guess to level out the weight loading to give a 'flat' vehicle.

Is is difficult to see what your issue is if you have replaced both the Springs and Shocks...
If your Defender was once right, and now it isn't, and your replacement Springs are rated / installed correctly
then maybe...and this is a long shot... try revering the Rear Springs and see what you get. It may proved that the Springs and their rating, is the significant factor here (even if you still don't end up with a level Defender).

Or you may get lucky...(Good Luck Thumbs Up ) SKIP

Is difficult if you are saying before touching a spring it changed and dropped thats very odd.

the defender suspension is reasonably simple.

Shocks wont make much to any difference, springs impact height so unless somethings broken or missing im not sure what it could be - i assume you have checked everything is seated correctly nothing is broken etc.

All the leading and trailing arms are ok etc? Mike

Can't see any issue. Leading and trailing arms are my suspects now but don't see anything special really.
Someone suggested I might have bent one?

Which ones to buy: I see HD versions with a cranked end. Also with different chassis connections.

What to buy (standard 110 from 2011)

Just resurrecting an old thread because I have this issue with my 90. It sits about 3cm lower on the rear passenger side compared to the rear driver's side. I've had a look for the colours shown in the chart above. Mine is a 90 Hard Top and I have;

Rear Passenger Side - White markings
Rear Driver Side - Red Markings
Front Driver Side - As far as I can make out it has one white 'blob' on the spring
Front Passenger Side - I can't see any colouring at all.

When I look at the table above I see there is a selection of colours show for each spring, why is that?

Also everything looks ok and, for what it's worth, it's just passed an MOT so there shouldn't be anything loose.

Does anybody have any idea what the issue could be? I'm concerned that, because of the inconsistent markings on the front springs, maybe that could be the cause because the rear springs have plenty of coloured markings on each spring?

Can anybody help with this?^^ I'm wondering whether I should change the front springs just incase they aren't genuine/correct? Or is there a way I can easily find out if they are genuine/correct.

Where it shows multiple colours the spring should have a blob of each one on it I think. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Ah ok, I'm not convinced any of mine have that. I'll have to have another look.
