Hello everybody
Thanks for your advice re the footwell rust. I've got another problem I'm currently working on - the windscreen wipers are moving very slowly (they go back into position) so I'm currently stripping the system down to the motors as detailed here; https://www.firstfour.co.uk/news/land-rove...air-guide/ I've come across quite a fiddly problem though - how on earth do you remove these parts of the windscreen wipers (the large parts on the end)? Thanks Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Circled is a grub screw. If you're lucky it'll undo.
Choose the Allen key carefully as it is easy to strip. Click image to enlarge 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Depending if any sort of anti-seize was used when they were last fitted, they could be really hard to get off, and there is the risk of damaging stuff round about.
I'd suggest seeing if you could find a small puller to use on this. Obviously you'd need something (bolt with head cut off?) to fit down inside the end of the fitting, so that it was bearing on the wheelbox shaft. I had the same problem with mine and they still wouldn't budge after soaking in WD40 but they came away easily with the use of a small 2 legged puller.

I'll just cut them off with a cutting disc and replace the boxes and cable, around a £50 expense.
Thanks all for your help! |

Consider doing the double screen washer mod while you have everything apart :

A small puller is only about £12 - £16 designed for the job. Be very careful of your paint and glass if cutting off for many reasons. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON

Ok guys, a little update.
I replaced the boxes + checked the original cable (all fine), put it all back on and...very little difference. I also noticed that selecting a faster wiper speed does nothing, just the same lethargic speed as the slower setting. I've looked at replacing the park motor switch but that seems to only affect where the wipers stop? The brushes have been mentioned to me as a good place to start, what do you think? Thanks again for your help! |

Assuming the wiring and switch is ok its most likely the brushes, had a similar problem and replaced the brush assembly and they’re working fine now.
Look on eBay at item eBay Item No. 233187658787 Cheers OJ |
