I'd like to see the pros and cons of them as they age on here.

I think I’d like to see how they go on here. Suppose it depends just how far they are from the original as to whether they fit on here though. Time will tell I guess.

Agree with Greeni.
Also it will be interesting to see the forums reaction over time. For various reasons, I think most will already have made up their mind before it even turns a wheel in anger. For others I think it will grow on them as they get more familiar and as second hand prices drop. |

Lets give them an opportunity.
Was the same when moves from Series III to Defender (no chats or forums at that time but probably in the clubs were more less the same). I also like to know first hand impressions about this new model and how many of the owners will be here. Well if its called a defender it should be on here. Whether the majority of people who buy them will bother is another matter.

As they have totally different architecture I think they should have their own DEFENDER3 forum. there is nothing stopping any of us signing up if we want to, the problem having them on here is there will be loads of threads just wasting our time that have no reference to the vehicles we are interested in.
Having seen them in the flesh I would like one to replace the BM, but it wouldn't replace the 90 that I already own DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

I think it should be on here,
Chances are at some point in the future myself and others will end up at least considering buying one. It would be good to get views, see different spec etc. Don't get me wrong I will keep the Puma & the SIII |

Off course it’s need to be here. When it’s rubbish when allways can include it in the grumpy old men thread a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

I was thinking that because we have a series forum on here that we should make room for the new Defender, but I can see a number of similarities between my 1960 SII and 2016 Defender. The New Defender has more in common with the D5.
I'll consider buying one, then decide not to. Same as the D5. |

I think it belongs on here. Is a Defender after all albeit nothing like the original. I’m on FFRR and RRS forums as well and can’t be doing with a fourth one to look at
The pictures I see of the new Defender the more it grows on me, although it’s hard to get over that it’s looking closer to a Discovery than a Defender . And I know it’ll carry a hefty price tag so not really sure why I keep looking at it. Will be way over my budget . |

Is it confirmed it will be called a Defender? Otherwise it might need a new forum
As for liking it, give it a few months and I'm sure I'll like it.
