radio cassette removal
Hi

I am thinking of upgrading my head unit - when I bought my truck, there were no radio removal tools. The current unit is a Radio/Cassette with a single hold on each side.

Have looked in Halfords, but the only tools they have seem to be for either slots, or 4 point.

Thanks
Andrew.

Long time since I did this & it wasn't a Landrover but a couple of bits of bent coat hanger used to do the job , it was only something to push a spring clip back and allow you to pull the radio out.

May have changed to something more secure now but it used to work.

Did give this a try, the coathanger bits fit the hole but don't result in any movement Big Cry

The image of the radio unit is right, but the tool looks like it's for a 4 hole rather than 2? I'll give them a ring though

Cassette Radio Removal
Try a long 2.5mm allen key, I believe. I took mine out a few months back- about 3 mins (the bolts are quite long) to get both loose enough to pop out and the cassette / radio pulls out easy as after that.

Good luck

If its a genuine LR radio/cassette, Paullo is right, there are 2 allen headed bolts holding the head in NOT the tabs that require wire/prongs to remove, like most radios. The bolts are set back in the head a long way, so you wont see them without looking with a torch. Thumbs Up
